Planning: Researching and Choosen Artist and Song Lyrics

My partner (Grace Shiach) and I were looking on unsigned.com for unknown artists to make a music video to. We came across four artists we were interested in. These were:

18 - Their music is aucoustic/rock/pop from Canada, their music is very slow and mellow, the guitar in the music gives a rather catchy upbeat effect to their music. The music wasn't quite what we were looking for, also the music would be hard to create a music video to, as it wasn't really clear.
The song we were interested in was "Keep on fighting".

Dean Ford - He is a solo artist, his music was also Aucoustic/pop/rock from the USA. His music is very relaxing and calm with emotional lyrics, throughout his music has constant use of repeatitive guitar playing. His lyrics are rather too "boy-band" style which is not what we are looking for. The song we liked was called "Dreams without doors".

Deborah Cade - Deborah is a solo artist, her music is Aucoustic/pop. Her music is very slow, relaxing with slight upbeat in the chorus, her lyrics are very emotive and realistic. The song we were very interested in was "Nothing the same"

Rebecca Watkins - Is also a solo artist, the genre of music she has been put under is other and pop. Her music Is very upbeat and catchy, her voice is quite high pitch which isn't what we are looking for. Her lyrics are too fantasy themed.
The song we liked the most was "I'll be gone".

After thourgh discussing with my partner, Grace Shiach, we decided to use Deborah Cades music as the music was good mellow pace, with upbeat at the chorus, creating a good contrast of chilled and fasted paced. Also listening to the lyrics they are very realistic, which gave us ideas for a music video that we could make. We also thought that all the ideas the lyrics gave us, made us thought that we could produce and create a successful music video to comliment and cobine with Deborah Cades music.
We were so interested in her song "Nothing the same" we found her myspace page, where she also featured other sings she has made, and emailed her asking for permission to use her song, the email is below. We have typed up her song lyrics, so you can look at the lyrics and relate them to the final production when we have made and completed the video.

Artist: Deborah Cade
Song Title : Nothing the same

"Nothing the same" Lyrics

I guess that I will not have picked up the telephone just now,
if id on known that was how, you were going to sound.
its been a while we both know, we both know,
that words have been said,
but the movies all wrapped in my head,
play the bad memories down.
do you remember the nights that you laid in my bed,
can you recall all the promised desire you fed, me
and did it mean a thing.

(chorus)
'cause baby i tried, to let you get rid of me this time
to believe all the tears that ive cried, well how can it be
and what with the twisted view, lovers like me and you
i wont ever admit our love to be true but my hopes are neverending
i guess the world will start turning again
nothing will be the same again, nothing will be the same again.

haunted by dreams that, im afraid to forget,
i guess you were right that i cared, more than i care to admit,
its not the first time it wont be the last when i saw you you held me and its happened so fast and inspite of the odds we said we both somehow thought it could last
dont be surprised if i cry when you drive down my road for the last time, dont feel the blame if i lie when you ask out a new woman, you wish it would rain and baby i feel it coming

(Chorus)
